Hopefully the US supreme court will make a sensible decision and declare that genes cannot be patented. While I'm increasingly opposed to patents in general if we are going to give them out for anything related to genes it should be limited to mechanisms for detecting genes not the genes themselves

If they decide to patent genes, I want a royalty check on the 1st of each month, $10,000 a month should do it. As far as I know those genes to belong to us humans and not some corporation.
