Romney to Millionaire Contributors: My Job Is Not to Care About the 47 Percent that Don't Pay Taxes
Election is a contest between strivers and parasitic moochers

Romney, with disdain in his voice, tells affluent crowd at a fund-raiser what he thinks of people that vote for President Obama, per a video obtained by Mother Jones. Some images are blurred to protect sources, according to MJ.

Romney on video: "There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax."

Per MJ: Romney "indicated that he viewed the election as a battle between strivers (such as himself and the donors before him) and parasitic free-riders who lack character, fortitude, and initiative. Yet Romney explained to his patrons that he could not speak such harsh words about Obama in public, lest he insult those independent voters who sided with Obama in 2008 and whom he desperately needs in this election. These were sentiments not to be shared with the voters; it was inside information, available only to the select few who had paid for the privilege of experiencing the real Romney."

The article breaks the video up into several embeds.

Just another diversion to distract from the fact that this president has failed miserably.  Like …. just today …. the administration's bullshit response that the attack in Benghazi was not pre-planned, but a spontaneous event. Give me a break. It was the administration's attempt to spin the event so voters will buy into their story-line of terrorism being erradicated and the fact that this president, once again, showed he was unprepared.

And +Sam Abuelsmid, I really believe that the current POTUS and left distain everyone that's made money.  I'm not rich but I bust my ass working to support my family. If you had a chance to make a million dollars would you turn it down?  Honestly, if someone offered you a million dollars a year to work for them would you turn it down on principal?

The disdainful content of the video is not surprising: Kind of boring in its reinforcement of the narrative that such people don't care for their underlings.

What is surprising is the huge press this is getting. Did people not think that the American aristocracy talk this way behind walls?

+Leighton Mann I think a lot of us knew that this is way that plutocrats like Romney think since it's clearly reflected in their policies. But with the uninformed masses getting to actually hear it with their own ears it might actually start to make a difference. At least I hope it does

Yeah. Most people are too busy to pay attention, which is fine until they vote based only on perception or tv spots.

The whole "clinging to God and Guns" Obama casual comment was even less surprising in its revelation (and truthfulness).
