I'm not really sure that is a lesson about climate change but rather just resource usage and pollution. There are plenty of other places where the upstream use of water has downstream effects, and the Dead Sea already is shrinking like the Aral Sea (though at least Israil and Jordan are trying to stop the decline with the Red Sea canal).
