Why "Podcasts" is the worst app Apple has ever made:

The worst app Apple ever made
Apple does a lot of things right, but this app is such a huge misfire, it rates only 1.5 stars in the App Store. Fortunately, there are some great alternatives. Read this article by Rick Broida on CNE…

I hope this deal doesn't go through! 1

+Waze is a very cool cross-platform, crowd-sourced navigation and alert app that currently works on iOS and Android. It's a safe bet that if Apple does buy Waze, they will the Android version and just roll this into their own maps app which would be a real shame

Rumors of Apple’s potential Waze acquisition heat up – $750 million said to be the magic number
Following multiple reports from Wednesday that suggested Apple (AAPL) has an interest in acquiring social navigation service Waze, a new report suggests that negotiations between the two companies ……

To anyone that is even remotely tech savvy, release windows have long since ceased to be even remotely relevant

If season 2 of Downton Abbey hadn't been such a disappointment, we likely would have already seen even before it's broadcast here in the US just as we did last year. As it is, we probably won't bother this time. Nonetheless we and tens of millions of others around the world have watched plenty of other programs when they were first broadcast rather than waiting for some arbitrary release schedule. Just consider how many people have downloaded Game of Thrones (which we did pay for with our HBO subscription).

Last week’s Downton Abbey broadcast debacle, while not representative of the world’s most acute problems, unnervingly illustrated one of the many ways

Just a reminder to the American people, despite winning a majority of the seats in the House of Representative, Democratic candidates actually got more votes

Democratic candidates accumulated almost 1.4 million votes in 2012 house elections than Republicans with a margin of 49.2% to 48.0% despite the GOP getting 234 seats to 208. This came purely as a result of the district gerrymandering that was propagated by Republican state legislatures in 2010. Democrats have of course done the same thing in the past when they led.

The point is that Republicans need to be reminded loudly that they do not have a mandate to drive our economy into the ground to meet their own political aims.

Context: As you watch the "fiscal cliff" countdown proceed, remember that this is exactly what the Republicans think of as governing — obstruction.

Post Politics
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) has introduced a new bill that he says would soften the impact of going over the fiscal cliff. It’s called the Cliff Alleviation at the Last Minute (CALM) Act, and Manchin s…

If you have an +Android phone/tablet running version 4.0 or later and you haven't rooted your device, you should definitely get a copy of this app. It provides a really simple interface to backup and restore all of the apps and more importantly the data on your phone.

Android App Backup – super ultra alpha

Linked below is the rootless [1] app (and app data) backup solution I've been working on. Will only work on Android 4.0+.

Right now, just app backup/restore to/from a computer browser is implemented. Will be working on cloud backup and sync (via Google Drive) next. Probably only works on Firefox and Chrome. IE blows.

[1] Current version requires root. The rootless version has a PC side install that I am not ready to alpha/release yet.
