If season 2 of Downton Abbey hadn't been such a disappointment, we likely would have already seen even before it's broadcast here in the US just as we did last year. As it is, we probably won't bother this time. Nonetheless we and tens of millions of others around the world have watched plenty of other programs when they were first broadcast rather than waiting for some arbitrary release schedule. Just consider how many people have downloaded Game of Thrones (which we did pay for with our HBO subscription).

That is precisely why pirating is so rampant. If I could get what I want when I want it and pay a decent price for it, I wouldn't download anything.
