The +Cadillac ATS is the opposite of what Caddies were when I was growing up and that's a great thing?

While I applaud that GM has finally build a convincing imitation 3 series, there's a part of me that longs for a Cadillac that is uniquely American.
The "land yacht" is alive and well in the Escalade, but that's lacking a certain sense of presence. What I'd really love to see is something more like the Ciel, or the outrageous Sixteen from years ago. They're both creations that could only have come from America. Those are cars that you arrive in. And that's the essence of Cadillac for me.
Another way to get me excited? Drop $5k of luxury out of the ATS and slap a Chevy badge on. Call it either the Malibu or Impala, I can't tell the difference between the two anyways. One can die so that this idea can live.
Hell, just keep the 2.0T in it. Chrysler can sell a ton of RWD Chargers, no reason a mainstream car can't.
+Matt Luckow That cheaper Chevy ATS is being revealed in January in the form of the next generation Camaro. As for the true flagship Cadillac, Johan de Nysschen has indicated that it will be coming later this decade as a model above the 2017 CT6.
Point taken, but a large muscle car with small porthole windows is a big difference from a useful compact sedan. I still would like a Chevy ATS.
…and a production Code 130R.

+Matt Luckow true, I really hate driving the current Camaro because I can't see out of it and judging by the spy pics the new doesn't appear to have evolved in this regard
Yes, the ATS is nice, those pics of the ATS Vseries are nicer, the ATS needs a small V6 turbo to replace the naturally aspirated V6, guessing this will be a version of the V6 turbo going into the new CT6, next 8 speed auto/7 speed manual tranmission, followed with summer tires available with the awd and how a manual offer on the V6/turbo, great car
Whoa
I have a SRX that's 3 years old and live in northern Canada very 'harsh climate' and haven't even changed a bulb, truley amazing car.
