The militarization of American police forces is a byproduct of the utterly failed war on drugs with more gasoline thrown on the fire by the war on terror

The problem with this approach is that it does nothing to make us safer and only serves to have the police that should be protecting us end up terrorizing the populace.

Note that I am not calling police terrorists in the common usage of the term. However, if you see dozens of officers in military-style fatigues, helmets and body armor pointing big guns at you, it will inspire fear and terror.?

We’re arming our police to fight problems we don’t have.
