Porsche plans to win Le Mans with this car!
Porsche wants to win Le Mans. badly. And this is the car in which it plans to do so. The 2014 Porsche LMP1 made its first on-track appearance in Weissach, and now it’s officially on like Donkey Kong. Anything less than a win next year will be a disappoint

If for no other reason than the Facebook app is a memory/battery hog, do yourself a favor and uninstall it, you'll feel better

Why your smartphone battery hates Twitter and Facebook
To paraphrase the saying about paranoia: just because you’re obsessed with battery life doesn’t mean that data-hungry apps aren’t out to drain you. In my case, I decided to put my foot down on the issue of having to charge my phone at 2 p.m. every, single, day. I looked into the services running on my Android phone (a Galaxy Nexus), and noticed that those using up the most memory, and probably demanding a data connection most often, were Facebo…

It's remarkable to think about how easy it is to loose institutional knowledge

We lost the knowledge of concrete for the better part of a millenium after the fall of the Roman Empire and we've only recently begun to understand how the rockets that sent astronauts to the moon worked less than 50 years ago.

Secrets of ancient Roman concrete could make modern structures more durable, cut emissions

Reshared post from +Ashley Esqueda

Just a taste of what I deal with on a per-video basis~

Welcome to being a woman on the internet (especially if you make videos on YouTube). Guys get the same shit, too, but women get it way worse.

I'm not gonna enable comments, because I don't need people's sympathy — but I will say this:

Just be a decent human being. If you've ever considered posting something like this, don't. And if you see your friends pulling this shit, do not let them get away with it. Unfortunately, silence is often perceived as approval by people like this.

If you were hoping congress might do something about the NSA surveillance state, think again

They clearly don't care as half of the senate decided to get an early start on the weekend instead of getting a special briefing on the program.

More than half of US senators skipped confidential briefing on NSA surveillance
As anger continues to foment over the US National Security Agency’s controversial surveillance programs, a confidential briefing on the topic held Thursday was attended by only 47 of 100 US…
