What is it about being online that makes people think they can spout of whatever… 3

What is it about being online that makes people think they can spout of whatever ridiculous shit pops into their pea-brains

Reshared post from +Ashley Esqueda

Just a taste of what I deal with on a per-video basis~

Welcome to being a woman on the internet (especially if you make videos on YouTube). Guys get the same shit, too, but women get it way worse.

I'm not gonna enable comments, because I don't need people's sympathy — but I will say this:

Just be a decent human being. If you've ever considered posting something like this, don't. And if you see your friends pulling this shit, do not let them get away with it. Unfortunately, silence is often perceived as approval by people like this.

who even has time for that shit?

like who is like "oh man, a lot of shit to do today, gotta to laundry, gotta change my oil, gotta play some video games… but wait. i gotta spend at least 5 minutes out of my day to say graphic things to people on the internet!"

    seriously, #aintnobodygottimeforthat
I admire her resolve to stick around, I wouldnt keep making videos after that kind of abuse… the pros do not outweigh the cons

My boyfriend is very careful to protect me from moronic trolls like this.  If we put videos up he'll disable comments preemptively, or he'll be careful to shoot/edit it so gender doesn't become an issue.

I like to think I'm better accustomed to male banter than most, having spent many years in the male-dominated car world, but there's no way I could deal with the above sort of shit.  That's something entirely different.
