Back in the late '90s net bubble days, tech startups selectively stated earnings

Remember "pro-forma" earnings when Silicon Valley companies would ignore all kinds of items to make it look like they were making a profit right up until the moment they filed for bankruptcy? That's kind of what +Tesla Motors did yesterday.

Unlike those bygone net companies like WebVan and Pets.com, #Tesla is a real business and may well reach real sustained profitability at some stage. It's just not quite there yet. 

The real news today is that Tesla lost $30.5 million
A closer look at Tesla’s ledger reveals the news isn’t as rosy as the headlines say. The company posted a net loss of $30.5 million last quarter, and that’s the real story.

Despite fear mongering headlines, your car is in no imminent danger of being hacked

That's not to say it will always be secure, but for now you are still at greater risk from someone with a pair of pliers going after your brake-lines than you are from a hacker.

If you have a link to a video in a G+ post like this 
California Custom: Barry's Speed Shop — Mustang Countdown
and then then you happen to put in some numbers that look like a time index such as 0:23 the time index will automatically be highlighted like a link. If you click on the time link, it will automatically jump to that point in the video. Go ahead and try it.

The arrogance of #Apple  just never ceases to amaze me

Apple failed to respond in a timely manner to request for permission to show its logo in a video so with a deadline looming the producer opted to blur the logo and move ahead.  After finally responding and seeing its logo eradicated Apple then demanded that the video be removed. 

I understand the need to protect a trademark, but can you actually protect against the absence of a mark?
