The headline writer missed the mark completely, but +USA TODAY has a cool look at some #Mustang s that never were

Chris Woodyard takes a look at some of the design studies and concepts that +Ford Motor Company designers considered over the years before turning elsewhere. Do you have a favorite? I'd vote for the Mustang shooting brake.?

The very first #Mustang Mach 1 was a late 1966 concept that previewed the design direction for the 1969 production model

While the concept didn't incorporate all of the elements of the early sketches, it was still a damned cool looking Mustang?

From rust we came and to Wolfsburg we shall return

I aspire to someday be half the storyteller that Peter Egan is.

I've been reading Peter's words in +Road & Track for much of the past 30 years and along with Dennis Simanaitis' technical pieces they were the highlight of the issues I got in the mail every month for many of those years.

While did get to spend some time talking with Dennis on a couple of media trips including a weeklong jaunt to Japan in 2010, unfortunately I've never had pleasure of meeting Mr Egan. Hopefully that opportunity will still come one of these days.

If not and Mr Egan happens to read these words, I just want to say Thank you!
