This is what happens when you build a beta car 1


Several years back in his book What Would Google Do? +Jeff Jarvis put forth the idea that Detroit should put out beta versions of cars and let users contribute back changes much as they do in the software world. At the time I responded on AutoblogGreen http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/31/jeff-jarvis-suggests-detroit-should-build-a-beta-googlemobile/ that it probably wasn't such a good idea. While some might argue Detroit has built products that should be considered beta, +Tesla Motors has apparently taken the idea farther than anyone except perhaps Fisker.
