Who'd a thunk it? You let motorcycle riders leave the helmets at home and more of them die.

Natural selection at its best.

This is one time when I can definitely agree with Judge Posner.  Now if other judges would follow his lead and start dismisses all of these ridiculous patent suits and just let these companies fight it out in the marketplace.

Police are not gods and they have no right to randomly handcuff and detain innocent people just because they are looking for someone that might be guilty.

Yes we need police to help maintain order in society but they shouldn't be allowed to run wild. It's time for society to start clamping down on police abuse of the citizenry.

What are the chances that any of these cops will get punished?

The Wankel rotary engine has always been something of an odd-duck 3

It's architecture enables it to make huge amounts of power in a tiny, lightweight package with almost no vibration. On the other hand they weren't particularly efficient and had durability issues early on.

Despite the pitfalls, Mazda has stuck by Felix Wankel's concept since the 1960s. While the last current rotary-powered machine, the Mazda RX-8 will soon cease production, the Wankel has in recent years found favor as a potential range extender in series hybrid vehicles like the +Chevrolet Volt. Audi built a fleet of A1 e-trons with tiny rotaries running a generator and several other companies have experimented with the layout.

For a decade Mazda has also been testing rotaries running on hydrogen. The rotary layout works particularly well with the rapid combustion characteristics of hydrogen. Now Mazda is apparently looking at using a hydrogen-fueled rotary as a range extender. Unlike the Volt, a hydrogen rotary ER-EV would actually be a full time zero-emissions vehicle since burning H2 produces water and no CO2.

We haven't yet seen the +Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and +Ford Motor Company Shelby GT500 go head to head on the track, but in individual tests have shown the supercharged Mustang is clearly quicker at the drag strip.  +InsideLine.com took the coupes to a dyno and found out that the Ford's on-paper power and torque advantage is actually even bigger at the wheels!

This is why the powerful are opposed to educating the masses 1

If you keep people ignorant, it's a lot easier to manipulate them into believing what BS suits your purpose.

Instead of teaching kids how to think critically, we've spent the better part of the past 2 decades to perform rote operations on standardized tests and turning them into cogs in the machine.

The arrow shaped +Nissan DeltaWing did its first hot laps amongst the rest of the Le Mans field this weekend and put in a very respectable showing with fast lap times of 3:47.980.  Can it maintain these times over 24 hours and will its fuel efficiency help keep it on the track?

We'll find out in two weeks.
