We've all heard of 3D printers like the MakerBot being used to create little widgets and toys and larger examples being used to produce prototype car parts and exoskeletons for a disabled child.  Now a bald eagle in Idaho that was shot in the face has been the beneficiary of the new manufacturing technology. Beauty lost most of her upper beak in 2005, making it impossible to feed or groom herself. Now she finally has the possibility of an eventual return to the wild thanks to a prosthetic beak fabricated in a 3D printer from nylon.  Amazing story of technology helping an endangered species.
