Can you be more specific why it is obscene and wrong? Yes there are schools across the country struggling, we are not one of them. WE voted to build it and WE are paying for it. It will generate more than enough income to pay for O&M and then kick additional funds into the general operating fund to support other school functions. It will bring money into the community for the events it snags, like the Texas versus the Nation College All Star game on Feb 2, 2013. It was built as part of $338 million in bonds we passed in fall 08 and spring 09, the remaining $278 million went for new elementary schools and a long list of other non athletic improvements. And yes our HS students are very well educated and competitive. We added 162 new teachers to the school district this year and yes all our HS students have books, in fact two sets for their classes, one for school and one for home. Don't be a lemming like so many others bashing the spending, do a little research behind the headline.
