 Back in the 40s, 50s and even into the 60s, many planes and helicopters would come and go within a decade or at most two. The Boeing Chinook has now been in service for 50 years and the B-52 bomber has been going strong for 57 years now with no end in sight. The F16 has been going since 1978 and the F15 went into service in 1976 and both are still in production today.
