This explains a lot 1

In an interview with Time Out, Daniel Craig talked about the script for his last James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace:

It seems that the script is sometimes an after-thought on huge productions.

‘Yes and you swear that you’ll never get involved with shit like that, and it happens. On “Quantum”, we were fucked. We had the bare bones of a script and then there was a writers’ strike and there was nothing we could do. We couldn’t employ a writer to finish it. I say to myself, “Never again”, but who knows? There was me trying to rewrite scenes – and a writer I am not.’

After seeing the movie I wrote a review for Autoblog where I pointed out that the plot seemed to have been drafted by at least three different writers that hadn't talked to each other.

Ford takes direct aim at the new Toyota Prius V and the Prius plug-in hybrid with new C-Max hybrid and C-Max Energi plug-in. Shooting for top spot in the MPG sweepstakes. over 42 mpg from the non-plug hybrid and over 100 MPGe (that's miles per gallon equivalent, a way of comparing efficiency of vehicles that get energy from sources other than gasoline) for the plug-in hybrid.

The biggest threat to American liberties and values comes not from an innocuous reality show about ordinary a? Americans that happen to be Muslim. It comes from religious conservatives of all stripes including Christians and from big business that wants to neuter anything that might be considered a public good including the Internet and public education.

Chris Dodd proves conclusively why no one involved in politics, the entertainment… 2

Chris Dodd proves conclusively why no one involved in politics, the entertainment industry or big business should be allowed anywhere near regulation of the internet. MPAA CEO (and former US senator) Chris Dodd said this:

"How do you justify a search engine providing for someone to go and steal something?" he asked rhetorically in a recent interview at the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers conference. "A guy that drives the getaway car didn't rob the bank necessarily, but they got you to the bank and they got you out of it, so they are accessories in my view."

This statement is either a complete misunderstanding or misrepresentation of what a search engine like Google is. Google is not the driver, they are the phone book where the robber looked up the address of the bank. Should we stop the phone company for publishing phone numbers and addresses?

It's really tragic that religious groups in this country make it so politically suicidal for Americans to come forward and admit that they don't believe in a higher power. As a result we get almost every politician feeling like they have to pander to church-goers just so they don't get shouted down by the radicals on the right.

The Audi R8 LMS would be a fantastic addition to the American Le Mans Series

I've been hoping that the R8 would make an appearance in the North America ever since it debuted two years ago. Until now the R8 LMS has only been available in GT3 class specification and there hasn't been a space for it in ALMS. While the ALMS GT Challenge class has been a success for the series, it has so far been limited to the Porsche 911 GT3. There are a number of other cool GT3 cars available in Europe that could provide some exciting racing here including the BMW Z4 and Lotus Evora. If the rumors are accurate, Audi will be developing a GT2/GTE version of the R8 to compete against the Corvettes, Ferrari 458s, Jaguar XKRs and of course the venerable 911. Bring 'em on.

I'm sure that in recent years as the use of debit cards has become more prevalent, we've all experienced the annoyance of magnetic strips wearing out.

While that is annoying in and of itself, what really makes me crazy are the stupid card readers at some stores. When I go to Lowes, I swipe my card, enter my pin accept the payment amount and then wait. Only then does it come back and report that it couldn't read the card. The system clearly knows as soon as the card is swiped whether it was able to read data.

Why not just say this right away so I can switch to a different card?

What moron programmed this system?

This has been happening for years even when I have a relatively new card which makes me tend to avoid shopping at Lowes unless they have something I can't find elsewhere. It's long past time to fix this.
