This is just so wrong

I hope the jury in this case sees sense and tosses all of the claims on both sides of this fight.

Apple demands $2.02, plus $3.10… equals a total of $2.5 billion in Samsung damages
How big is $2.525 billion when you’re Apple? It won’t affect living standards in Cupertino, that’s for sure, but it’s evidently enough to be worth hauling a rival through the US courts. The figure is revealed in Apple’s damages claim, submitted in the run-up to its battle with Samsung in California, and is quite separate to other claims in Europe and Australia. If you’re not already sick and tired of this feud, then the sums behind that big amorp…

My first quick drive of the precursor to the new +Ford Motor Company C-Max Energi… 10

My first quick drive of the precursor to the new +Ford Motor Company C-Max Energi back at the 2008 New York Auto Show. At the time then chief engineer Greg Frenette projected that a full production PHEV could be on sale within five years and Ford has beat that by nearly a year.

Ford's first production plug-in hybrid, the 2013 C-Max Energi now has an official price tag $33,745. Thanks to the larger lithium ion battery found in the C-Max, the Ford is eligible for an increased $3,750 federal tax credit allowing the final cost to undercut the Prius PHV with an effective price of $29,995 making it the least expensive plug-in hybrid in America.

The debut of the C-Max Energi comes more than 4 years after Ford first began testing a fleet of plug-in Escapes. I had a chance to drive one of those prototypes way back in March 2008 http://green.autoblog.com/2008/03/26/abg-first-impression-ford-escape-plug-in-hybrid-w-video/

2013 Ford C-Max Energi Priced at $33,745, Cheaper Than Prius Plug-In
It’s official: not only does the 2013 Ford C-Max Energi Plug-in hybrid travel further in all-electric mode than the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in hybrid, but it will cost less too. As Ford detailed last n…

What a concept, requiring broadcast news to tell the truth

Reshared post from +Alida Brandenburg

[Fox News banned in Canada because, unlike in America, it's illegal to lie on broadcast news.]

(More on that here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/103765013042311928518/posts/EfyQCJ9NfUt)

How in the world lying on the news is still legal here in the US is beyond me.  I can't see any rational reason for it. Can someone explain?

More than a decade after Bob Lutz took control of the product development efforts at +General Motors, Cadillac seems to have produced the car that he probably wanted to build from day one.

As an aside, reviewer Scott Evans demonstrates yet again that Newton's laws of motion still take precedence over fancy electronics.

A critically important part of business leadership is breeding the next generation of leaders and +Marissa Mayer may well be able to recruit some of the best that she has mentored over the years to help reinvent Yahoo.

Reshared post from +Steven Levy

In all the +Marissa Mayer coverage, there has been surprisingly little said about one of the most significant achievements in her tenure at Google — the success of the Associate Product Manager program she conceived and ran.  According to the Yahoo press release over 300 highly coveted CS grads with potential CEO skills came into Google through this initiative, and Mayer set out to mentor all of them.  It's not too much of a leap to expect some of them (many of whom are post-Google already) to take jobs at Yahoo.

It's time to stop issuing patents on software and put a hold on all litigation until we can sit down and sort this out properly

Reshared post from +Gina Smith

"Google spent $12.5 billion in 2012 to buy Motorola Mobility and its patents, and only $5.2 billion in 2011 on R&D," Chien explains. "In 2011, Apple spent $2.4 billion on R&D but contributed more — approximately $2.6 billion — in a single transaction to buy patents from Nortel."

That's a quote from my story today — super indepth — on the patent sit. Sounds boring, but damn, there is intrigue in those patent stories! and what characters!
