+Honda has a lot of interesting projects going on in its R&D labs that don't appear to have anything directly related to cars or motorcycles. Among those is the stride assist device which was first shown in prototype form in 2009. I had the opportunity try out that early prototype during a 2009 trip to Japan. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/22/tokyo-2009-autoblog-samples-quirky-honda-u3-x-and-other-assist/

The latest addition which is going into a new test program with seniors that have mobility issues is trimmer and lighter than the one I tried almost three years ago. 

While some might argue that these sorts of projects and the HondaJet are distractions from the core business, I still find it fascinating.

On a beautiful summer afternoon today, +Julie Abuelsamid and I went out to Pickerel Lake to do some floating on the water. I took the flip cam and the new waterproof case I recently procured.  As we floated on the calm water I heard the unique call of the sandhill cranes and immediately switched on the cam and got this all too brief clip.
