Automakers considering integrating any Apple proprietary technology should take a lesson from accessory makers

Recognizing that consumer electronics evolve a lot faster than cars get replaced, +Ford Motor Company specifically designed SYNC so that it wouldn't be tied to any one platform. Other automakers should follow suit and only use technologies that are platform agnostic.

Tesla Motors has hired Chris Porritt away from +Aston Martin to lead its engineering efforts

Assuming that Porritt can get along with +Elon Musk he should probably be a pretty good fit for +Tesla Motors. I interviewed him at length at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show when he was leading the development of Aston's One-77 supercar and this is the sort of engineering that Tesla would certainly go for.
