Over on

Over on +Jalopnik, +Matt Hardigree provides a great rebuttal to a ridiculous article on unsold cars

I saw this article yesterday and as soon as I saw the photos of 2008-era Dodge Durangos and Honda Accords I opted to dismiss it rather than draw attention to it. However, this is a regurgitation of something Matt wrote 5 years ago, it was fitting that he callout the author for writing something so idiotic.?

I usually enjoy reading Zero Hedge because the insights are often interesting and I think pessimism is an underrated virtue these days. However, this guest article on unsold cars is so demonstrably false I had to take a break from my Sunday morning to dispute it.

If you're a Ford Mustang fan and you use a rooted

If you're a Ford Mustang fan and you use a rooted +Android phone, here's a little treat for you

I turned this GIF of Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak demonstrating electronic line lock into a boot animation file for Android phones.  Your phone needs to be rooted and you'll need a file manager like Root Explorer. Just rename the original bootanimation.zip file to bootanimation.zip.bak and copy line-lock-boot.zip to the root/system/media directory and rename it bootanimation.zip.

Now every time you start your phone, you'll see this wonderful machine in action. ?

Now they have used modern laser scanning techniques to create an exact replica of the tomb itself that tourists can visit so the original can be preserved.?

The image above isn’t Tutankhamun’s tomb, but the most accurate large-scale facsimile ever made. The replica was created by Factum Arte, from Madrid,

Microsoft's decision to decouple the Kinect from the XBox One could actually save you a lot more than $100!

Microsoft's decision to decouple the Kinect from the XBox One could actually save you a lot more than $100!

It turns out that the XBox One and to a lesser degree the PS4 consume vastly more energy than their predecessors. Having the Kinect constantly listening and watching for commands night and day even when no one is around consumes more than half of the 289 kWh used annually by the Xbox.

Both consoles also use a disproportionate amount of juice just to stream media because they are so overpowered for the task. Streamers like Roku, Apple TV and Chromecast use minimalist hardware to provide the same task, consuming just 1-2 watts while the consoles take nearly 80-90 watts. ?
