Don Sherman takes a look how +Ford Motor Company selectively used some cast iron in the new aluminum-intensive F-150

The all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that will probably be the mainline engine in the F-150 uses a cylinder block made of compacted graphite iron, a material previously only used for diesel engines. The choice of CGI allowed the engine to be lighter and smaller overall while still withstanding the pressures of twin turbocharged operation in a truck.?

Last week as our team of craftsmen assembled a Ford Mustang atop the Empire State Building, Matt Jones from +Top Gear paid us a visit

After chatting up the crew, he set about demonstrating why the British car industry has mostly gone the way of the dodo by mishandling some parts 🙂

Just kidding, it was great to have Matt at our little rooftop gathering.?
