It's long past time to demilitarize the police

The buildup in the wake in the wake of 9/11 let local police forces all over the country acquire military equipment designed for war fighting that they have no business possessing. When police that traditionally have been undertrained and prone to abuse the power they have suddenly get over-armed, it is inevitable that they will do something stupid like this.

The police chief in Ferguson needs to be removed immediately and all of these weapons should be taken away. ?
