In a former Mazda plant 23 miles south of downtown Detroit, the lines are moving to produce the most significant Mustang ever.

Since the reveal of the new Mustang, there has been plenty of speculation about it's chief competitor which is moving from GM's aging Sigma platform to the Alpha platform developed for the ATS and CTS. 

While the current ATS is substantially lighter than the current Camaro, the next Camaro will almost certainly be substantially heavier than the ATS to account for the bigger brakes and other reinforcements to accommodate the V8 engines.  The 2016 Camaro will probably be lighter than the 15 but whether it can undercut the Mustang remains to be seen. ?
