As if getting your car torn up by potholes wasn't bad enough 2

A case can certainly be made that drivers should try to avoid potholes. However, when they are as prevalent as they are in Michigan right now or when they are camouflaged by melt water or rain, it's just not practical, especially if there is other traffic around you. If your car is damaged, and you can do so safely, it's  probably a good idea to snap some photos of the area when an incident happens to back up your story.?

Pothole ruin your suspension? It’s probably your fault, according to insurance company
Unfortunately for motorists who hit a pothole hard enough to pop a tire, dent a rim or wreck their suspension, the inconvenience of having a damaged vehicle may only be the beginning of their troubles.

Gah. They've been pretty horrendous in New York too. I was driving home in my Miata recently and hit a bad one that was too big to avoid. The impact broke the plastic holding up the shield under the steering wheel, gave my front tire a nice fat bubble and gave me an instant headache. It's impossible to memorize where the damn things are because new ones pop up daily, too.

Yes NYC is just terrible, I drive to JFK from north Brooklyn and I swear that almost everyday I find new holes/cracks, some 3-4", some even deeper.
I really hope the winter is over SOON, the damage to the roads is getting out of control here 🙁
