Sadly, this has no chance of happening in America where carriers exercise total control of what goes on our phones?
South Korea Says Smartphone Users Must Be Allowed To Remove Android Bloatware | Cult of Android
The South Korean government has ruled that smartphone users must be allowed to remove Android bloatware pre-installed by carriers and handset makers. Korea
Samsung should start doing this….
One of the cool things about Windows Phone is that any app is removable.
The first thing I do is delete all but one AT&T program (locker -50GBbof storage, that's why). I do NOT understand why every OS doesn't allow this. WinPhone doesn't have nearly the bargaining power of Android or iOS. You'd think Apple and Google could make this happen.
+George Jones I suspect if it gains more market share the carriers will start to lock it down more. When Android was young there were quite a few phones with stock Android and no bloatware, whereas now that's basically limited to Nexus and Google Experience devices.
+Melina M I think the only Android phones that verizon ever sold with stock roms were the OG Droid and the Galaxy Nexus. Pretty much everything else has been customized and locked down and loaded up with bloat.
+Sam Abuelsamid I think you're right. Verizon is the worst offender, and T-Mobile the least.
