The reason that there are no TV manufacturers in the U.S. today is more a matter of politics (that is, the Federal government refusing to enforce tariff policies) and a general sellout of corporate leadership. To wit, Apple, who once had some of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world, but sold out to China when Tim Cook convinced Steve Jobs that it was a good idea.
