Actually this applies to any social network. No matter how large or small, your business should have a unique web presence with a domain you own. Social networks are great for expanding your reach and engagement, but they should not be your primary point of presence online because that network can arbitrarily shut you down any time they want. ?

I’ve spent 4 years and countless hours building up a community around my software: my Page had 338050 Likes, my Support Group had 13360 members, and my Interest List had 1.47 Million followers. But all of that work was wiped out in an instant when Facebook decided to shut it down without notice.
