Former Folly Beach realtor finds the right ‘ride’ with a ’65 Mustang
Her heart never really had been in the real estate business anyhow. So after the 2008 housing crash, Courtney Barber listened to her instincts.
Y'know, this kind of reminds me of The Mrs. She wants a Mustang II. For most folks that car is a punch line. But for her it's the car she and her dad wrenched on when she was in high school.
Purists be damned, it's always fun to see someone find something they love and have fun with it.
+George Jones For all its flaws, the Mustang II was the right car for its time. As early as 1968 Ford was hearing the complaints from early Mustang fans that the car was getting too big and that's before the massive 1971-73 models arrived.
With the realization in 1969-70 that emissions and safety regulations were coming into effect in the coming years and a desire to get back to a smaller, lighter car, the II was born. Certainly it was underpowered, but the size was actually pretty good.
In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in the Mustang II. If you give one the restomod treatment with new suspension, brakes and fuel injected 302 crate motor from an early 90s Mustang, it could actually be a pretty decent car.

The thing I always found weird about the II was that people use parts from it to build other hot rods, but you never see hot rodded IIs. We're actually watching Charlie's Angels as I write this, the II is an attractive little car, it just needs some love. There's even a white w/blue stripes Cobra for sale in Macon right now. If I bought that I'd be the best husband ever.
