Disney, Pixar and LucasFilm

As I was listening to an episode of the Incomparable podcast discussing the future of Star Wars under Disney stewardship a thought occurred to me. With Disney now owning LucasFilm, Pixar has in a roundabout way returned to its roots.

Long before the brilliant storytellers at Pixar made a few amazing computer animated shorts followed by Toy Story, the operation began as a digital imaging operation within LucasFilm. It was eventually spun off and sold to Steve Jobs before going on to reinvent animated movies. Disney eventually bought Pixar from Jobs in 2006. Now the whole gang is back together.

It's sad when one party is so fixated on their ideology that they ignore data that it's just wrong.  I'd love all the low tax people who are going to respond to this post to try to explain how their position is supported by data, rather than just calling me names.

+Robert Reich provides an excellent articulation of the true philosophy of Mitt Romney.  It's a new "ism" that takes corporatacracy to an unprecedented and dangerous level.

Romneyism
By now, in these last remaining days before the election of 2012, we have learned enough about the beliefs of the Republican presidential candidate to see them as a worldview all its own — a kind of …

Another proof point that that the wealthy supporters of Mitt Romney are far more interested in accumulating and maintaining power than actual governance.

As I consider the fact that Mitt Romney has refused to answer any questions from the media for the past 3.5 weeks, it occurred to me that media blackouts might not be all bad especially if we start with a complete blackout on Donald Trump.  Since Trump has absolutely nothing but nonsense to say, let's all agree to collectively ignore him, starting NOW.

For those of you that gravitate toward the middle of the political spectrum, if you are still considering a vote for Romney because you think he would govern as more of a moderate, consider this.

If Romney and Ryan carry the day, their momentum will likely return a Republican House and possibly a senate. With both the legislative and executive branches under their control along a right leaning SCOTUS and Ryan as Veep, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever, that Romney would behave as a moderate.

If elected, we will not get Massachusetts Gov. Romney, we will have to deal with the tea party-style candidate we saw in the GOP primary race.

Here's a better idea, throw out the hyper-partisan Republicans in the house starting with Paul Ryan because if they are left in place with a Romney administration things will get far worse.
