What do you think of the first ad for +Ford Motor Company's new C-Max hybrid? It's a new market segment for Ford that Toyota seems to be doing pretty well in with the Prius V and the C-Max is rated at 5 mpg higher.

I think they should have put a diesel in it and slam-dunked everything else with 65 MPG.

More importantly, the Fords are "bigger" cars, in that they're just … bigger and feel larger, more refined. They should do well.

+Anton Wahlman the C-Max is a bit larger than then "standard" Prius hatch but marginally smaller in cargo room behind the seats than the Prius V. Overall, the C-Max is closest to the V. They do benefit from the more upscale interior appointments found on the Escape and Focus and a more conventional control layout. Ford has also priced it very aggressively against the Prius V and PHV
I think it was an interesting choice to make the US C-Max hybrid and PHEV only. It will be interesting to see how well it does in the market now that Ford's hybrid component supply constraints have been relieved. Ford is not building hybrid transmissions and battery packs in-house for the C-Max and Fusion.

Yes, I drove both of them. What I had in mind was the feeling of things such as the doors. Just like a Volt feels more like a Mercedes C-Class, the Ford doors felt a lot less cardboard than the Prius versions as well.
