Red shows life expectancy fell over the last twenty years for womenThink about this when both Democratic- and Republican-parties — including President Obama — embrace the idea of patching our Federal budget on the backs of seniors and the poor by raising the eligibility ages for both Medicare and Senior Security. For many Americans, life expectancy is declining, not increasing.
Here's another way to look at the data from the NYT's article I posted about earlier, showing that lower-income white women were seeing their life expectancies decline, geographically instead of demographically.

I think the more telling question would be; how do these results correlate to the availability and consumption of healthy food.
But county level data may not have the resolution necessary to make any significant correlation.
