Back in April, Raj Nair succeeded the retiring Derrick Kuzak as Group VP, Global Product Development at +Ford Motor Company. In this job and his previous role as vp of product engineering, Nair oversaw the teams in North America, Europe and Asia that jointly developed Ford's new midsize cars that will sold here as the Fusion and overseas next year as the Mondeo. The transmission sucked in the 2010. They managed to take all the power out of that big engine. Now they finally get a 6 speed in there and take out the engine!

+Jason Honingford The 2010s and all later Fusions have had 6-speeds exclusively aside from the eCVT in the hybrid. When I reviewed one back then it was quite good, smooth shifting and responsive.

+Sam Abuelsamid Thanks I'll have to look. The 2009 must have been the one I didn't like. Of course I'm going from an aging BMW, so it's hard to compare. Newer is usually better though.
