What kind of value does a 10 minute 'test drive' have? Not much I guess.
From the article: "after a walk through the factory, a visit to a dealer showroom, and an hour-and-a-half spent driving the car on a mix of roads, my eyes are wide and my jaw has dropped."
Had to include the last part 😉
That's why it's called a First Drive.
+Sean Pereira they don't specify if they drove it themselves or if they just were a passenger.
I've heard from multiple sources that they are only allowed 10-20 minutes behind the wheel.
Not a good way to test the range of an electric car.
+Sean Pereira and if you still don't believe me. See this quote from Myriam Joire (+Engadget ) who drove the car:
All publications got 10 minutes in the car on actual roads

Publications will give you the idea that they tested this car for a much longer period of time. Don't be fooled.
+Robert Rooijakkers It seems like all publications except for Motor Trend and Yahoo Autos got ten minutes with the car. It clearly says "spent driving" in that quote, so I have no reason to believe anything otherwise.
From the Yahoo article: "…so I had some idea what to expect when Musk handed me the sleek key fob for an hour-long stint."
Apple should just hurry up and acquire Tesla, in order to have something better to do than getting involved in stamping out television sets as their next product expansion: http://www.thestreet.com/story/11595438/1/would-apple-acquire-tesla.html
