I remember reading that the Lamborghini Diablo could hit 60 in first gear and being totally amazed. Now a Mustang can do it. Of course, the Diablo had less power.
The Diablo also cost four times as much 20 years ago as the GT500 does now and couldn't get 16 mpg in the city if the engine was off and you were pushing it.
I believe the Ford GT can also hit 60+ in first gear. I wonder how the mileage compares to this, though.
My 66 LeSabre could get well into the 70's in first gear.
Then again, it was a two speed auto.
My Mazda can get well into the 70s in third gear. Probably.
Correction. My Mazda can hit 70 in 4th gear.
My Sonic will do 30/60/90 at 6000rpm in the first 3, and with a huge shot of NOS, 217 in sixth…
