It's long past time for the US to move beyond the greenback and start making currency in different colors for the various denominations like the rest of the world. Something like this that should be more durable would be a good idea as well.

love the idea. harder to counterfeit too.
Puts a whole new spin on the "cash or plastic?" question. The answer is "yes."
I always thought, if we really wanted to keep the name "Greenback", we could still make the reverse of the bill in green. The obverse could be in whatever color we choose.
Polymer bills are great, too; but some countries reported issues with the population "accepting" them. Many people (and I wish I could remember the country I'm referring to) refused to accept the new "phony money"
The key is to not give people the choice. People will use money (assuming they use cash at all in this era of debit and credit cards and NFC) if they have to. When Canada switched from paper dollar bills to coins more than 20 years ago, they simply discontinued producing paper dollars. Eventually the Loonie was the only single available and it was later followed by the "toonie" to replace the $2 bill. Here in the US, the government has never been able to commit to change whether it was metric or dollar bills.
