Create shooting brake (aka sporty wagon) variant of the new MKZ and power it with the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel that they build at their UK engine plant for Jaguar and Land Rover.

Only downside is, IIRC, Jaguar and Land Rover are now property of Tata, not FoMoCo anymore. Not against the diesel tho.
It's all academic anyway, because an MKZ shooting brake would probably never happen and if they did, it would probably use the 3.5 ecoboost which is not a bad alternative
