From the sounds of this review, the Scion iQ isn't going to be converted any more Americans to microcars than the Smart ForTwo did. At least the iQ has more cargo space.

2012 Scion iQ
The 2012 Scion iQ is slow and tiny—but also surprisingly expensive. Read the review and see photos of Scion's little runabout at Car and Driver.

Not going to give up my Honda Fit for one of these….
I'm very happy with my brand new Kia Rio 5-Door. 40 highway MPG and not a hybrid. Not wicked fast but it gets up and moves when you need it to. A few mods down the road (K&N intake and quad-fire plugs) and will be eminently more scootable. It was only around $16k with only 12 miles on the odometer. Sweet. Would def recommend.
The problem with Smart is that they're way, way overpriced. My Ford Focus is bigger, gets about 30 to 33 MPG highway, and even with some really nice options I bought it new for a few thousand dollars less than a similarly loaded FourTwo. The Smart is not a good value.
Yeh, but hyabusa motors are easy to find …
+John Berger The iQ is over priced as well. You could buy a Jetta for the same amount.
