In the spirit of making people feel old https://plus.google.com/u/0/114133424228405038490/posts/JgxRSLugDmd, how many of you know how to operate one of these? I remember the frustration my then 12 year old son expressed a few years back when he encountered one for the first time and could not for the life of him how to make a call.

We just rescued one from my in-laws' house. Still works: my wife hooked it up in the family room, and then disconnected it when she realized how long it takes to place a call (we are so in a hurry these days).
No batteries required. No wireless signal required. Just a functioning landline and socket to plug it in to. It does have one thing in common with today's smartphones. You can dial a number using just one finger.
Hmmm…Bakelite!
I'm a kid of the 90's and I know how to use one. in fact, I got an app for one on my smartphone, just so I can get a similar feel when I want to call someone.
