Automotive product planners often talk of white spaces when they introduce new types of vehicles. White spaces are those gaps in the market that aren't being served by existing vehicles. Sometimes it's a segment that has simply been overlooked. A prime example here that has been a real winner is the +Ford Motor Company

Then there are those segments that are empty because no one wants a vehicle like that. The poster child for this is the +Acura ZDX which has been an absolute dud since it arrived at about the same time. Acura has decided to discontinue the ZDX after the 2013 model year.
